The Atlantic Council, together with the U.S. Embassy to Greece and diaNEOsis, will host #DisinfoWeek Athens from 18:00-20:30 at Cotsen Hall at the American School of Classical Studies.
As state and non-state actors seek to influence Western democracies through targeted disinformation campaigns across multiple media environments, policymakers in Europe, the United States, and around the world are recognizing the growing threat to international security. To buttress governmental efforts, civil society groups, investigative journalists, think tanks, and tech platforms are also developing tools and tactics for countering and exposing disinformation narratives. In an effort to advance the transatlantic partnership on countering disinformation, the Atlantic Council and its partners will bring these groups together for a dialogue on the actors and tools involved in this space, and to discuss potential solutions.
Damon Wilson, Executive Vice President, Atlantic Council
Ambassador Daniel Fried, Distinguished Fellow, Eurasia Center, Atlantic Council
Thodoris Georgakopoulos, Content Director, diaNEOsis
